Mesa is a flat-topped hill with steep sides. They are
often seen in Arizona, but not so common in other regions. Blue Mesa area is in the center of the park.
It is still a couple miles off the main drive. The view there is a must-see.

These are ancient rock-paintings found in the
national park. I wonder what kind of life did they have here in such a
difficult environment. Nevertheless, these people did appreciate what
nature gave them and enjoyed the life they had.
Have they also seen the petrified wood and admired the beauty ?
