Activity Suggestion
Hiking is probably the most popular activity here. There are a couple trails with different difficulty to choose from. Some easy ones (like Riverside Walk) are good for the whole family to enjoy.

Allow at least 3 to 6 hours in Zion Canyon. Unless you stay in the in-park lodge, you have to take the shuttle bus which is in fact very convenient. Take some popular trails there and you can easily spend a whole day or more. If you have more time, visit the Kolob Canyons and Kolob Terrace Road. It will probably take another half to one day. You will go through the Zion-Mt. Carmel highway either coming or leaving if you also visit Bryce Canyon or Grand Canyon in your trip. Be sure to make a couple stops there for marvelous red rocks and checkerboard mesa.

Zion is very close to Bryce Canyon and not too far from Las Vegas and Grand Canyon thus make these locations a good package for a one-week-trip.
